Battered baby still critical

The two-year-old battered baby is still not able to breathe properly, which is worrying doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ Trauma Centre. HT reports.

The baby has been on a ventilator for more than a month in the neurosurgery intensive care unit of the hospital and has been finding it hard to breathe without the ventilator.

Even after five life-saving surgeries, the baby still remains critical but stable.

Doctors are now initiating all methods to gradually wean her off the ventilator so that she can resume breathing on her own.
