Bikers rob businessman of Rs 9 lakh

According to police, Sanjeev Kumar was travelling in his car along with the cash, which he was going to deliver to an associate, when the assailants intercepted him on the Ghazipur flyover around 10:00 am.

A businessman was robbed of Rs 9 lakh by bike-borne gunmen near Ghazipur flyover on Thursday morning. “They pointed a gun at his head and asked him to hand over the cash. When he resisted, one of the assailants hit him and snatched the bag containing Rs 9 lakh which was kept on the passenger seat” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.

Before the victim could raise an alarm, the three fled.

The police said Sanjeev immediately informed the police control room and a police team arrived at the spot. The police said they had recorded the victim’s statement and registered a robbery case at Madhu Vihar Police Station.
