BJP announces its candidates for RS bypoll in MP

BJP announced Kaptan Singh Solanki and Anil Dave as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha bypoll in party-ruled Madhya Pradesh, on Monday.

BJP announced Kaptan Singh Solanki and Anil Dave as its candidates for the Rajya Sabha bypoll in party-ruled Madhya Pradesh, on Monday.

The bypoll was necessitated after two of its Rajya Sabha members from Madhya Pradesh quota -- Sushma Swaraj and Narendra Singh Tomar -- were elected to the Lok Sabha in the recent general elections.

While Dave is a local party leader, Solanki is the choice of the central leadership.

The decision to field the two was taken by the Central Election Committee of the party headed by Rajnath Singh.
