BJP said its government in Uttarakhand had, in fact, banned stone quarrying, following which a company got a stay order from the high court.

Uma Bharti sought to dispel the notion that the BJP had ignored the Swami. She said in a release that she had spent two hours with Nigamanand the night before his death after having spent just five minutes with Baba Ramdev.

Accusing the Congress and the media of trying to politicise the issue, she said, “Congress is playing politics over the death of Swami Nigmanand... Even the media is now showing the political war of words.... I appeal to the media and the parties not to do politics over his sacrifice.”
