On Shakeel’s petition, a bench headed by Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan said the petitioner who is at present lodged in Sabarmati jail, Gujarat, would be moved to Tihar Jail and remain there from April 4 to May 7.

Shakeel has been asked to bear the expenses of the travelling. The court, however, said that the petitioner would appear in the five papers under police custody. The bench gave the directions after Gujarat counsel said the state did not have any reservations over Shakeel taking the exams.

Shakeel is facing trial for his alleged involvement in the serial blasts in Delhi in 2008. HTC, NDelhi
