“There were no external injuries on his body, and we found a poisonous substance in his stomach. The body was rotting as he died two days earlier. We have sent the viscera to a lab for further examination,” said Deepak Mathur, who led a team of doctors to carry out the post-mortem. Agnihotri was from Kanpur, and he had been working with IBM Daksh for more than a year.

Police said he was suffering from depression as his mother was unwell and his father had married twice. His family members reached Gurgaon on Sunday.

Police denied foul play in the case. “He committed suicide,” said a police officer who is probing the case.

According to investigators, his family’s financial situation was not good. His friends also said he was suffering from depression. The body has been handed over to the family.
