The three-year-old child has also been rescued. The accused have been identified as Sahib Singh and Krishan Kumar Sharma, from Bihar's Chhapra and UP's Meerut respectively, said Chhaya Sharma, DCP (south).

“On January 25, Shokender Singh, who is a Lance Naik in the Indian Army, approached us with a complaint that his son had disappeared while playing in a ground from the Lodhi Colony Complex,” said DCP Sharma.

The police said, even as a case of kidnapping was being registered, the victim's father received a phone call with the caller demanding Rs. 15 lakh as ransom for the safe release of his son.

Police said two teams were formed one of which was able to trace the location from where the ransom call had been made to a village in west Delhi's Naraina. It was further revealed that the person who made the call had simultaneously been in touch with a resident of the Lodhi Road Complex.
