“We don't go by temporary beatings. It's the future for big cities like Delhi,” IIT-Delhi director Surendra Prasad said on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.

“Let me stand by my colleagues to say that we sold a concept for mass bus transit system in Delhi,” Prasad added.

A few professors of IIT-Delhi were consultants to the Delhi government in conceptualizing the BRT corridor in the city. Many critics argue that several reasons including faulty design and poor traffic sense of many commuters turned the BRT corridor into a traffic mess in parts of Delhi.
