Chaudhary Surender, an MLA belonging to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) from Gokulpur, was arrested in the court on Friday.

Deputy commissioner of police (northeast) Sanjay Jain said, "The NBW was issued after he failed to come for the hearings. He was arrested in the court premises."
