Bullet lands Turkish airhostess in jail

A live cartridge of a 9mm pistol was detected in her hand baggage when she was passing through the security check to board the Istanbul-bound flight. She was handed over to the police.

According to sources, the bullet was gifted to the 33-year-old crew member by her boyfriend, who is reportedly in the police.
The police said a case was registered under the Arms Act and the bullet seized. “She had come from Turkey on Monday morning. It is not clear how she cleared the security check there. Maybe, carrying a bullet is legal in Turkey, but here it is an offence,” a senior police officer said.
The crew member’s passport has been seized and she will not be allowed to leave the country till the case is over.
