This is the first death caused by a DTC bus this year. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the Bluelines. In the ninth such case in 2009, a speeding killer bus crushed a 21-year-old man in Najafgarh in Southwest Delhi. According to police, the accident took place at about 9.05 a.m. near the Dinpur turn in Najafgarh.
Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the absconding driver.
In the second accident, a DTC bus ran over a 40-year-old priest in Sarai Rohilla of North Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, the accident took place at 2.30 p.m. when the driver lost control of the bus and rammed into several vehicles before crushing the victim under its wheels.
Police have confiscated the bus and arrested Hukum Singh.
