Cabinet nod to extradition pact with Bangladesh

India is all set to sign an extradition treaty with Bangladesh soon. The cabinet cleared the pending pact at its meeting on Thursday. The move will help New Delhi getting Anup Chetia, member of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom from Bangladesh. The clearance of the pact comes ahead of home minister Sushil Shinde's proposed visit to Dhaka on Monday.

The cabinet also approved the setting up of a inquiry panel to look into the matter which will submit its report in 3 months.

The CCEA on Thursday added flexibility to the 'Special Industry Initiative for Jammu & Kashmir' (Udaan) scheme to make it more relevant. Under the scheme, 40,000 J&K youth will be trained in the next 5 years.
