Taking the Aadhaar number scheme to its logical conclusion, those individuals with the UID number will get direct cash as scholarship money and health schemes.

"On January 1, we will launch the direct cash transfer scheme in four centrally sponsored schemes in the city. These are the scholarships for SC/ST students, scholarships for OBC students, Indira Gandhi Maitrey Sahyog Yojana and the Jannani Suraksha Yojna. All those beneficiaries who have an Aadhaar card will get the direct transfer. Soon this scheme will be extended to the other five centrally sponsored schemes in Delhi," said Dharam Pal, divisional commissioner, Delhi government.
