Childcare book launches Indian edition

The name, Karuna, sounds familiar and unlike other foreign authors books it is not Jamie or Angela or Beck. The book is about the Indian child and her growing up experience.

"The option of simply repeating what one's parents did, will no longer work. India and the world are changing, and parents must change, too. The question is, how? Baby and childcare is, and always has been, about helping each parent find the best answer for herself or himself," said Dr Abdulla Ghori, who with his paediatrician friend Dr Robert Needlman created the special Indian edition of the childcare book. The book is drawn on their experience from the US, the UK and India.

Earlier this month, the Indian edition of Dr Benjamin Spock's treatise on childcare hit the book stands. The original was penned in 1946, keeping the American readership in view.

"The book has been in the market for nearly 65 years. The Indian society is changing rapidly. So, we saw a definite need for an Indian version of the book," he said.," said Dr Ghori
