The gang members have been booked in as many as 30 cases of robbery, vehicle theft and murders.
One of the accused used to work as a loader at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Shibesh Singh said, "They used to spend their money on expensive hotels. They also gambled and were involved in cricket betting in cities like Mumbai, Goa and Jaipur."
The police said the gang initially began with stealing bikes from various parts of the city and then changing their number plates. They would rob businessmen or forcibly enter shops, factories and offices brandishing weapons. In August alone, the gang committed eight armed robberies and a murder. "Members of this gang are quite ruthless and open fire at their victims at the slightest provocation," he said.
