Civic bodies start sealing drive against illegal shops
Initiating a drive against illegal commercial establishments, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) and the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Tuesday sealed 36 properties and seven properties, respectively, for non-payment of conversion charges.

The two corporations will continue the drive in the coming days as well.
In East Delhi, sealing notices have been sent to 354 properties while 1,2500 properties have been issued showcause notices.
The 36 shops against which action was taken are located at GTB Enclave, Ashok Nagar and Dilshad Colony. To avoid getting their premises sealed, the
owners of the shop have been asked to submit the charges immediately.
Shops that have been sent sealing notices are located in Andhi Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Bhola Nath Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Vishwash Nagar, Vikas Marg, Shakarpur and Vinod Nagar.
The SDMC conducted its drive in the Mohan Co-operative Industrial Area for non-payment of conversion charges.
