The politicians and officials of the Civic Centre have been craving the food of Chandni Chowk ever since the shift in address was made last year.

The IRCTC canteen serves tea and some basic snacks which is not sufficient for the staff.

Therefore the deliberative wing of the corporation is mulling the idea of bringing chaat and chhole-kulche vendors of old Delhi to the Civic Centre.

"There is some space available at the building where they can set up stalls. Since the building has smoke detectors, it won't be possible to have gas stoves, so ready-made food such as gol-gappas and chaat will be promoted," said Subhash Arya, leader of the House, south corporation.

Earlier, MCD had its headquarters in Chandni Chowk which is known to be a foodie's paradise.
