Sheila Dikshit launched ‘Sheel Shera’ project — an imitative of ‘No to Plastic Bags’ organised by an NGO, Sahyog, on Saturday stressing upon the need of use of environment-friendly bags.

“People should make their own bags with used clothes and give them a beautiful look,” she said. She said Delhi government has made strict provisions, including fine and imprisonment, for using plastic bags.

The Shera displayed at the function was made of 2.5 lakh polybags collected by ragpickers and school children.
