Coal row: DB Group clarifies on report

Media firm Dainik Bhaskar Group has denied a news report that it had acquired a coal block for its subsidiary, DB Power Ltd, in Chhattisgarh.

Media firm Dainik Bhaskar Group has denied a news report that it had acquired a coal block for its subsidiary, DB Power Ltd, in Chhattisgarh.

Reacting to the report ‘Media firms among block allottees’, carried in the Delhi edition of Hindustan Times dated September 8, 2012, it clarified that the media company that owns the Dainik Bhaskar newspaper is called DB Corp Ltd, and bears no relation with DB Power Ltd.

The report pertained to the allocation of coal blocks to various companies by the screening committee.
