Cold wave shuts schools

The Delhi Govt has issued directives to all schools to close primary classes till February 2, given the cold wave conditions sweeping the Capital, reports Anuradha Mukherjee.

The Delhi government has issued directives to all schools in the city to close primary classes till February 2, given the cold wave conditions sweeping the Capital and the neighbourhood.

Senior students will continue attending classes as usual. All government, private and municipal schools are expected to suspend lessons for primary classes.

Schools like Modern School (Humayun Road), Shri Ram (Vasant Vihar), all branches of Delhi Public School and Amity (Saket) will now reopen only on Monday. Laxman Public School, however, has decided to declare a holiday only for students studying in nursery to Class II.

Schools in Ghaziabad and Noida have also declared holidays for students up to class VIII till Thursday. Class will resume from Friday.
