In particular, the stretch from Shri Ramkrishna Ashram Marg Metro station to the outer circle in CP is a nightmare for motorists during the monsoon.

The decision will benefit thousands of commuters who run into jams blamed on water logging during the monsoon.

The life of a concrete road is several times more — easily more than 10 years — compared to tar-surfaced roads.

In fact the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to surface several other roads with concrete in course of time.

“We have already started building similar roads in Wazirabad,” MCD Director (Press and Information) Deep Mathur said.

While the concept is not new, MCD’s decision to relay more roads with concrete is a welcome step. Earlier, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation constructed a similar road between Vikas Marg and Akshardham junction.
