Cong failed to put up united front in MP: Sonia

Congress lost assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh as it failed to put up a united front, party chief Sonia Gandhi said on Thursday.

She expressed concern over the party's defeat in the two states while complimenting the performance of the Congress units in winning elections in Delhi, Rajasthan and Mizoram.

Addressing a meeting of Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) in New Delhi, Gandhi touched upon the menace of terrorism, which she said, has been rejected as a political issue by the people.

Briefing reporters about the CPP meet, party spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said though she was concerned about the defeat of party in the two states, the number of seats Congress has won in MP and Chhattisgarh has increased as compared to the previous polls.
