The Cong has identified five dos and don’ts for battling terror and called for a debate on them as a prelude to an all-party meeting that may be called after PM from abroad, reports Saroj Nagi.

The five points: no communalisation of terror, as reports suggest that places hit by communal riots are the breeding grounds for terrorists; no politicisation of terrorism; no articulation of grievances through violence; the Centre and the states must work jointly to stamp out terrorism irrespective of their ideological differences and individuals should be given equal treatment while fighting terrorism.

A Congress spokesman sought to set the record straight on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s claim that he had warned the Prime Minister of possible blasts in Delhi. The spokesman said if the chief minister had nabbed some of the people named by Students’ Islamic Movement of India leader Safdar Nagori and Amir Parvez to the Indore police earlier this year, the Jaipur and Delhi blasts could have been prevented.

“We do not want to indulge in rhetoric. We could also have asked why were those people not arrested? Had they been nabbed, the blasts would not have occurred,’’ he added.
