Congress fields Anil Batta from Jhansi seat
Sitting councillor Anil Batta will be the Congress candidate from Jhansi Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh for which bye-election will be held shortly.

Sitting councillor Anil Batta will be the Congress candidate from Jhansi Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh for which bye-election will be held shortly.
The seat fell vacant due to resignation of Minister of State for Rural Development Pradeep Jain from the assembly after becoming an MP.
The party also announced the names of local leader Shyam Kishore Shukla to contest from the Lucknow West assembly seat which was vacated by BJP leader Lalji Tandon after being elected to the Lok Sabha from the Lucknow parliamentary constituency.
Ram Swarup Dewalia, a local party leader, would contest from the Lalitpur seat in the state, party sources said.
