“Price rise is troubling all of us, and the (Congress) governments whether at the centre or elsewhere are worried,” Dikshit told reporters.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader V.K. Malhotra defended the decision to hold the protests that led to traffic disruptions across the country including Delhi.

“One to two hours of bandh is not a problem as the hike in prices of essentials haunts people. This move aims to make a deaf government wake up to the problems of the common man,” he told reporters.
