“The complainant, HC Shrikrishan is posted at the Sultanpuri Police Station’s Maalkhana (strong room). He made a written complaint against ACP Sultanpuri Danvir Dutt last night,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.

According to police, Shrikrishan filed a written complaint in the police station’s daily diary, alleging ACP Dutt had threatened him with dire consequences after he got wind about Shrikrishan’s argument with his colleague constable Manoj who happens to be his favourite.

“When Manoj was questioned, he told senior officers that one of Shrikrishan’s friends would visit him at the Maalkhana at odd hours and usually under the influence of alcohol. The two had an argument when Manoj asked Shrikrishan to tell his friend to refrain from doing so,” said the officer.

When Shrikrishan was cross examined, he denied Manoj’s allegation and reacted in ‘a manner unbecoming of a police officer’, police said.

“He got defiant and acted in an uncouth manner,” the officer said.

Police said a vigilance enquiry had been launched to investigate the episode.
