Sources in the Delhi Police’s Special Cell have claimed that apart from scanning CCTV footages from the Ambala Cant where the vehicle was found, investigators are also trying to ascertain the possible route taken by the perpetrators.

“We have a point A in Jammu and point B, from where the car was recovered. Now, we are trying to connect the two points by ascertaining the route taken by the suspected terrorists,” said a senior police officer. As for now, sources claim that the car is understood to have entered the Punjab through the Jammu-Pathankot-Jalandhar-Ludhiana-Ambala route.

Investigators are currently in talks with the NIA to ascertain whether Wasim Akram Malik, remanded to police custody for his role in the high court blast on September 7 and a suspected to be an LeT operative, has any knowledge about the plot.

Meanwhile, inquiries made by HT reveal that no FIR regarding the seizure of explosives has been registered in Ambala with the entire investigation being under the mandate of the Delhi Police and the Central intelligence agencies.
