With the cut off percentage of B Sc (H) courses increasing every year, students with an average result are apprehensive of securing admission.

A good alternative, in such a case, would be B Sc (Life Sciences).

B Sc (Programme) in Life Science summarises the essence of biology. It is a conceptualised presentation of whole biological sciences for recall and reflection. It provides a framework for further in-depth study of biology for the students of biological sciences. This course presents biology as an integrated and universal science and presents processed information on biology and chemical sciences in a capsular form.

With professional courses so much in demand these days, this course provides an opportunity for students to go in multidisciplinary fields.

This course has been designed to inculcate the integrated approach to the sciences not confining the students to a single field of sciences.

First year, also known as the foundation course, gives the students knowledge about the fundamentals of nearly all streams of Science with the subjects like Physics and Electronics, Chemistry, Maths, Computer Science, English, Economics along with Biology (consist of both Zoology and Botany).

Second year students study the main subjects of Biology i.e. Zoology and Botany along with Chemistry and various papers such as biodiversity, cell biology, immunology, etc. This year is highly beneficial to the students going for a Post graduation in these relevant fields.

The third year again consists of important papers of biology both in Botany and Zoology. These papers have newly designed syllabus, which covers all the new and modern techniques and topics related to biological and chemical sciences.

The course is offered to students who have studied biology/ biotechnology along with chemistry and physics in their senior secondary classes.

The subject offers a plethora of opportunities for students after graduation. Many students prefer a masters degree in subjects like Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Bioinformatics, Bioinformation technology, Toxocology, Food Technology and Life Sciences.

The students have a plenty of career choices that they can make. Teaching in schools or colleges remains the good scope for the students of life sciences. Also in today’s time there is a wide demand for professionals in Research and Development programme in drug industry.
