Cruel husband gets court rap

A Delhi court granted divorce to a woman on grounds of cruelty saying her husband’s conduct was nothing short of being monstrous and to term it as cruelty would be an understatement.

Relying on testimonies of the witness and the supporting documents, additional district judge Sujata Kohli said, “It is clear that the treatment meted out to the woman at the hands of her husband is beyond imagination.”

In its order, the court in particular took note of an incident dated September 26, 2010, when the woman was offered drug-laced sweets by her husband due to which she felt unconscious.
