CVC starts fresh probe into 4 cases

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has initiated fresh investigations into four new Games-linked projects, including discrepancies by agencies responsible for upgrading Major Dhyan Chand National stadium and RK Khanna tennis stadium.

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has initiated fresh investigations into four new Games-linked projects, including discrepancies by agencies responsible for upgrading Major Dhyan Chand National stadium and RK Khanna tennis stadium.

The CVC wrote to the Sports Authority of India to provide details about remodelling and upgradation of Major Dhyan Chand National stadium, after complaints were received that there were several discrepancies in project implementation.

The CVC is also probing irregularities in the purchase of 3D Shera, Games mascot, procured for the event. The agency has written to the sports ministry to provide more details on the procurement.

It has also asked the sports ministry to provide information about some senior officials in the Organising Committee, including joint director general RK Sacheti, against whom there were complaints of misuse of official position.

The CVC is also looking into irregularities in the supply and installation of network equipment by the commerce ministry
