Darbari’s bail plea rejected

A city court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of TS Darbari, a close aide of Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi.

A city court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of TS Darbari, a close aide of Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi. This is the second corruption against Darbari and is related to procurement of video screens from a London-based firm during the Queen's baton relay in October 2009.

Special CBI judge AS Yadav said, "The matter involves crores of rupees and in view of the serious allegations made against the accused, I do not find it appropriate to grant him anticipatory bail. His application is dismissed.”
