‘DDA must have a member for environment’

Calling it an ‘unfortunate state of affairs’ due to ‘lack of foresight’ on the part of city planners, especially the DDA, NGO Yamuna Jiye Abhiyaan has called on Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna to change the scenario to remain a sustainable world-class city.

Calling it an ‘unfortunate state of affairs’ due to ‘lack of foresight’ on the part of city planners, especially the DDA, NGO Yamuna Jiye Abhiyaan has called on Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna to change the scenario to remain a sustainable world-class city.

“As the city will expand further, we suggest let there an empowered member (environment) in the DDA, charged with environmental planning and vetting of all new projects,” Abhiyaan’s Manoj Misra said in the letter to Khanna.

“It is high time the DDA had a professionally managed environmental preview system of projects in place,” he said.
