The Cabinet accepted the recommendations of a wage revision committee that suggested slightly better pay package for the power companies than the recommendations of the sixth Central Pay Commission, officials said.

They said around 4,000 employees of the IPGCL (Indraprastha Power Generation Co Ltd), Delhi Transco Limited, PPCL (Pragati Power Corporation Limited) and DPCL (Delhi Power Company Limited) would be benefited from this decision.

The recommendations would be implemented retrospectively with effect from January 1, 2006.

The Wage Revision Committee headed by Justice (Retd) Lokeshwar Prasad submitted its report to the city government in December last year, which was further, examined by a review committee.

The officials further said that the approved recommendations are slightly better than the recommendations of the sixth Central Pay Commission.

The recommendations have been accepted in principle and the concerned companies would issue a detailed office order at the earliest, they said.
