Delhi domestic help abuse: police custody for employer

Vandana Dhir, accused of assaulting and illegally confining her domestic maid, was remanded in police custody for a day by Metropolitan Magistrate Gomati Manocha on Tuesday.

According to court sources, the police told the magistrate that the victim was brutally assaulted by the accused and she was undergoing treatment.

Sources said the police have also moved a plea seeking permission for conducting a bone ossification test on the victim to ascertain her actual age.

The domestic help was rescued, from Dhir’s Vasant Kunj flat with severe injuries on Monday evening.
