Announcing the move, standing committee chairman of the corporation Ram Kishan Singhal said: “The green uniform licence will result in a decrease in the incidences of conning and theft around railway stations. It will put an end to overcharging from those coming to Delhi from outside. It will generate employment.”

Fees for a green porter licence will be Rs 100 for a year. A certificate of physical and mental fitness from any municipal hospital, a certificate stating that the person is fit to carry maximum of 94kg along with his photo and an identification proof with his address and character certificate issued by local police station are the documents required to be submitted.
