Delhi: Lab assistant arrested for molesting minors
The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a lab assistant working with a government school in North West Delhi's Wazirpur area, for allegedly molesting two minors on school premises.
The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a lab assistant working with a government school in North West Delhi's Wazirpur area, for allegedly molesting two minors on school premises.
The accused identified as Vijaypal Singh, 58, allegedly molested two 13-year-old girls after school hours. "The incident came to light when the girls reported the matter to their parents on Monday evening, alleging bad touch by Singh," said a police official.
"The parents soon approached the Bharat Nagar police station, after which the accused was arrested," he added.
The parents, however, unsatisfied with the police investigation led a protest outside the police station and the government, demanding the accused to be handed over to them. "This is not the first such incidence reported from the area. The accused usually go scot-free without any punishment," said a protester.
The protesters were soon pacified by the senior police officials.
A case has been registered at the Bharat Nagar police station under sections of IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) act.
