Delhi Metro: Man attempts suicide at Karol Bagh

Operations at Delhi metro were affected after a middle-aged man attempted suicide at the Karol Bagh Metro station on Wednesday evening. According to CISF, the man jumped in front of the moving train at 8:21pm.

Operations at Delhi metro were affected after a middle-aged man attempted suicide at the Karol Bagh Metro station on Wednesday evening. According to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the man, who is yet to be identified jumped in front of the moving train at 8:21pm.

"He came under the wheel and train movements had to be stopped. The train going towards Noida/Vaishali were affected as this happened at the Platform 1. The officials took over 20 minutes to remove the injured," said a CISF official, requesting anonymity.

The injured has been rushed to a nearby hospital with severe head injuries. According to officials of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), train services were resumed after 8:45pm and have been running normally since then.

CISF has recovered a packet of cigarettes and a matchbox from his pocket and no identification card could be found.
