Delhi: Overbridges soon at inter-change stations

Installation of FOBs and ramps have been planned to provide seamless connectivity through the paid area for the convenience of commuters.

The interchange stations on the 56-km-long corridor - the longest in the Delhi Metro network - will be at Azadpur, Netaji Subhash Place, Rajouri Garden, Mayur Vihar 1, Karkarduma and Anand Vihar, said a spokesperson of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

At Anand Vihar, the new station will be adjacent to the currently operational FOB and at the other stations FOBs and ramps will be constructed.

The length of the FOBs and ramps will range from 70 metres to 200 metres.

“Due to inadequate availability of land near the existing stations and the direction of the alignment, it was difficult to connect the new stations with the already operational ones,” said the spokesperson.

The DMRC engineers have designed these FOBs and ramps. Lifts and escalators will also be provided wherever required and the connectivity will be from concourse to concourse, said officials.
