Delhi's Ebola helpline gets 200 calls in two days

The Ebola virus disease helpline launched on Saturday at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has received almost 200 calls over two days.

The calls usually seek information about the symptoms of the diseases and how it is spreading. They also ask if there are any confirmed cases in India.

"As of now, there are no suspected or confirmed cases as yet in India," said a health ministry official.

Three men in Dwarka and a 26-year-old man, who had returned from Guinea on Saturday night, is under observation at Chennai's Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital in Chennai.

Everyone arriving from the four affected countries -- Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria in West Africa is being screened for the virus.

The Dwarka resident who arrived from Ghana on a flight on July 20 in which a passenger tested positive for Ebola and his two housemates are under surveillance for symptoms for three weeks after arrival.
