Delhi: school-bus driver molested kids, showed porn

A 28-year-old school bus driver and his helper from a prominent south Delhi school have been arrested by the Hauz Khas police for allegedly molesting some minor students and making them watch pornography. HT reports.

A 28-year-old school bus driver and his helper from a prominent south Delhi school have been arrested by the Hauz Khas police for allegedly molesting some minor students and making them watch pornography.

The accused were arrested on Thursday evening following a call made to the police control room by the parents of one of the victims. The arrested school bus driver and helper have been identified as Asgar Ali and Mohammad Shamim, 26.

A case under sections 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, was registered against them. The accused live at Kotla Mubarakpur area in south Delhi and are single.

According to a senior police officer, the accused were employed with the school for past couple of years. On Thursday afternoon, the police received a PCR call in which the caller alleged that the driver and helper of the school bus were showing pornographic clips and molesting the school children travelling in the school bus.

“The allegation was verified with some other children who use the bus. They confirmed that the two used to show pornographic clips on their mobile phones to some students who are in the age group of 10 to 15 years. Some of the students had also complained to their school teachers about it,” said the senior officer, adding they have seized the mobile phones of the accused on which the pornographic clips were saved.
