Delhiites to sweat it out yet again

Delhi will remain hot and muggy on Thursday with the mercury expected to touch 42 degrees Celsius and the humidity levels high despite light showers the day before.

Delhi will remain hot and muggy on Thursday with the mercury expected to touch 42 degrees Celsius and the humidity levels high despite light showers the day before.

"Even though light rains or thundershowers are predicted in some areas of the capital later in day, the weather will remain hot and humid," an India Meteorological Department official said.

The minimum temperature on Thursday touched 30.1 degrees, two notches above average for this time of the season.

The maximum temperature on Wednesday hovered around 41 degrees, four notches above average.

"Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of thundershowers in some areas towards afternoon or late evening. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 42 degrees," the official said.

Humidity was recorded at 64 per cent.
