"It looks like BJP is heading for a landslide win. I would like to congratulate them. All the best for them!" Dikshit told reporters as counting of votes polled in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls gave the BJP a huge sweep.

Within three hours after vote count began at 8 am, the BJP had bagged 23 wards out of 32 where counting was completed. The MCD has 272 seats.

Significantly, it was also leading in 130 wards. TV projections showed the BJP would end up with a thumping majority compared to the mere 18 seats it had in the outgoing house of 134 members.
