Dikshit calls on PM, discusses CWG

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss preparations for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October, a spokesman said.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss preparations for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October, a spokesman said.

The chief minister's spokesman gave no further details, but Dikshit said on the sidelines of a function later: "Preparations for the Games were discussed. Some of the difficulties faced by Delhi also came up."

The meeting comes a day after Dikshit assigned her ministers deadlines to ensure timely completion of infrastructure work in the city.

She has also directed civic officials to clear the debris on city's roads ahead of the arrival of monsoon.
