DJB adds 2 more projects to Yamuna Action Plan

Phase II of the Yamuna Action Plan (YAP) will see two more projects apart from the three that were originally part of the task. YAP is DJB’s ambitious programme to improve the river water quality along the critical polluted stretches of the Yamuna.

Phase II of the Yamuna Action Plan (YAP) will see two more projects apart from the three that were originally part of the task. YAP is DJB’s ambitious programme to improve the river water quality along the critical polluted stretches of the Yamuna.

The work for this phase is slated to start in October this year.



The new projects are: an Okhla sewage treatment plant of 30 MGD capacity and the rehabilitation of Keshopur sewage treatment plant.



Under phase II, work for relaying of the Ring Road sewer is almost complete while the construction of Bela Road sewer will be completed by November this year and the construction of Wazirabad sewer will be completed by March 2012.


YAP’s Phase II will cost the DJB about Rs 554.36 crore.
