The DBCs who were demanding regularisation of their contract jobs, withdrew their strike a day after the civic body issued an ultimatum asking them to join duties by Thursday evening or face sacking. The DBCs had staged a demonstration outside the office of the Lieutenant Governor on Thursday.
"We have been given assurances on behalf of the L-G that our demand for regularisation will be looked into. On his assurance, we have decided to withdraw the strike and have rejoined duty," said Ashok Chaudhary, president of Anti-Malaria Karamchari Sangh.
