'Don't repeal AFSPA now'

Two days after five security personnel were killed in a fidayeen attack in Srinagar, army chief General Bikram Singh on Friday cautioned against tampering with the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was not the right time to repeal the law. HT reports.

At a time when demands are being made to withdraw the controversial law, he said, "If I were to be asked, I would say the time is not right to tamper with this act."
