A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi today.

A 20-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi today.

The deceased, Vikas Gupta, lived with his parents, police said. Vikas was discovered dead on Sunday morning from his room by his family members.

He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased’s body has been sent for autopsy.

A police officer said that a suicide note was recovered near the body. “In the suicide note, Vikas wrote that nobody but he was responsible for his death,” he said.

Vikas was employed as a computer operator at Defence Research and Development Organisation.

His father, Ramesh Chandra Gupta, is a retired employee of BSES. His two sisters are married.

“Vikas’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room,” the officer said.
