Drive to check hoarding of LPG cylinders

After receiving a number of complaints about the black marketing of LPG cylinders, the department of weights and measures launched a special drive to check the practice.

After receiving a number of complaints about the black marketing of LPG cylinders, the department of weights and measures launched a special drive to check the practice.

The Delhi government conducted 455 raids at various hideouts and focal points, where gas is extracted from LPG cylinders. During these raids prosecution was launched against 159.

"Strong action will be taken against defaulting gas agencies and bottling plants involved in black marketing of LPG cylinders. To stop the practice and protect consumer interests, several inspections and raids were conducted," said Haroon Yusuf, minister of food and supply.

The minister said they had also been getting complaints regarding short supply of LPG.
