Only eight people were confirmed to be suffering from the infection on Tuesday while the number was six on Monday.

Both figures were in tune with the recent decline in the number of confirmed cases of H1N1 Influenza A during the past week and the city has the extreme cold to thank.

“The recent decline in the number of H1N1 Influenza A cases can be attributed to the biting cold in the city as the virus cannot grow in such low temperatures. The low temperatures are reigning in the infection,” said Dr Anjan Prakash, Delhi government nodal officer for swine flu.

Tuesday’s numbers took the total cases of the flu in Delhi to 9,570.
