More than 200 applicants and their parents gathered outside the office of the Non- Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) on Friday, waiting for the third cut-off list.

But the board, which provides education to women students from Delhi on Saturdays and Sundays, had filled all seats in the second-list itself and did not come out with a third list.

“The officials had told us that we should try to take admission in the third cut-off but there is no such list. Where are we supposed to go now? I can’t ask my daughter to sit at home and leave studies,” said a parent, who did not want to be named.

After standing outside the NCWEB office for around an hour, parents and students starting shouting and allegedly misbehaving with the guards and teachers. They then allegedly moved on to break glass panes on the doors and windows. The police had to be called .

According to Aarti Saxena, director, NCWEB, the parents and applicants created a ruckus despite the admissions being closed.

“We had told them to wait for the third cut-off list, if any. It was supposed to come out on Friday but all seats were filled and we did not bring out a third list. Those who did not get admission under the first two lists for various reasons gathered outside the office demanding admission. We had to call the police to control the situation,” said Saxena.
